Position Description

Social & Scientific Systems, a growing employee-owned technical and research support firm, has an immediate opening for a Nurse Analyst with at least 3 years of hospital-based general surgery and/or emergency room experience. This exciting position will research and analyze medical device adverse event report information, preparing reports and analyses and applying broad professional knowledge and understanding of technical and clinical disciplines to the evaluation of medical device adverse event report information. The Nurse Analyst will interact regularly with manufacturers, the clinical community, with staff throughout the FDA’s Center for Devices and Radiological Health, and with staff from other Centers within the FDA. QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
• Registered nurse with Bachelor’s degree in nursing
• 3 years of experience in hospital-based general surgery and/or emergency room work
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to prepare written analyses of device reports and then communicate these with target audiences described above
• Proven ability to work well in teams
• Ability to obtain Level 5 Public Trust Security Clearance (can be obtained after hiring)

Highly desired:
• Experience with public-sector (USG) clients
• Experience with patient safety initiatives and risk management initiatives
• Intermediate MS Office software skills especially Word and Excel
