Position Description

The V.P., Biometrics is a global leader with an in-depth understanding of the clinical development of customer need. This individual must have command of the shifting global data management, scientific programming and biostatistical marketplace as well as understand the unique positioning achieved through electronic data capture, adaptive study design and global labor markets. The V.P. Biometrics is a key member of the management team driving overall corporate performance. It is essential that this executive contribute to the Company’s top and bottom line growth through integrated strategies across the clinical development operations.
• Provides strategic direction and management for Biometrics at all Kendle sites globally
• Drives top and bottom line growth across the companies operations
• Accountable for developing and managing sales, revenue and expense budgets for Biometrics
• Defines and measures progress towards goals, objectives, performance standards and assessment measures for Biometrics
• Responsible for ensuring the completion of Biometrics services in compliance with Good Clinical Practices and within expected timelines, budgets and contractual requirements
• Participates with sales team to develop a business strategy to successfully market Biometrics services
• Develops and maintains positive working strategic partnerships with customers, internal and external
• Anticipates industry trends, investigates and performs cost-benefit analyses on new technical procedures, software and equipment to enhance the efficiency and quality of Biometrics services
• Contributes to the prioritization of implementing technologies
• Develops Biometrics project bids for proposals in the region; participates at bid defense meetings and presents sponsor proposals
• Monitors the utilization data for Biometrics activities; establishes methods to maximize the use of Biometrics resources
• In collaboration with other VPs and Group Leaders, determines the Kendle region which will conduct the Biometrics services for projects and, independently, determines the Kendle office
• Responsible for maintaining a sufficiently staffed and trained Biometrics organization to effectively meet the needs of projects
• Ensures appropriate tools are available and utilized to track, forecast, report on and measure Biometrics project performance
• Identifies emerging regions suited for Biometrics activities and directs integration activities of Kendle Biometrics sites
• Assures successful completion of performance appraisals and salary planning for Biometrics personnel
• Ensures the development, implementation and maintenance of global and regional Biometrics SOPs, Guidelines, Work Instructions and Job Descriptions
• Partners with leaders across business and functional units to develop coordinated, cross-functional solutions
• Where appropriate, works collaboratively to maintain global Kendle standards, policies and procedures
• Participates in local and/or company-wide special projects according to the needs of the entire organization
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) PHD a very strong plus
• Minimum of 10 years experience in clinical research with at least 6 years of management Experience involving multi-site global management
• Must have experience within a CRO
• Knowledge of ORACLE, SQL, SAS and experience in PC Windows/Window NT environment a plus
Ability to understand, organize and supervise a staff to work concurrently on several projects, each with specific requirements that may differ from project to project
• Must possess strong team working skills with the ability to motivate, provide support and coach others to accomplish business goals
• Strong attention to detail, flexible, and open to suggestions and possess excellent communication skills
• Able to interact within a matrix environment with multiple departments and multiple Kendle locations to establish project standards
