Principal Scientist, Invivo Testing - Emergent Biosolutions, Inc.

Position Description

Responsibilites:
This position will support non-clinical development of countermeasures for biodefense, primarily vaccines and immunotherapeutics against anthrax, funded by federal government product development contracts. Qualified candidate will be responsible for the design and implementation of non-clinical studies to meet regulatory requirements for licensure of biologics and blood products. Must ensure success of projects through interaction with scientists, CROs, and project managers. Will also participate in the evaluation of and response to Government RFPs, BAAs, RFIs, and RFAs in support of new and existing products.

Requirements:
Ph.D. in Microbiology, Immunology, Biochemistry, or related discipline. M.S. with relevant experience may be considered. Experience in non-clinical development of biological products, particularly design and execution of animal studies, is required. Must have strong familiarity with GLP and requirements for demonstration of efficacy using the FDA “Animal Rule”. Ideal candidate will have 3+ years of post-doctoral training with 2+ years of directly related experience.
