Position Description
Chemistry Study Director
Rapidly expanding contract research organization seeks research scientists for open Study Director Position in our Analytical Chemistry Department. Studies involve compliance pre-clinical testing of medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology products according to numerous national and international regulatory guidelines. Opportunities exist for expanding the laboratory’s testing capabilities, as well as collaborating on R&D projects with clients.
The Chemistry Study Director’s responsibilities include protocol generation and approval, data collection and interpretation, report writing, toxicological assessment of data, consultation with clients, and writing/revising of Standard Operating Procedures. Reporting falls under Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Process (GMP) guidelines.
This position requires candidates to hold a Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field. Candidates with a Masters degree will be considered for the position with a minimum of five years experience in the pre-clinical chemistry field. A strong working knowledge of GLP, and ISO 17025 and other regulatory requirements is preferred. Must have a strong analytical instrumentation background including HPLC, GC, LC/MS/MS, Carl Fischer, UV, and IR. Excellent communication skills a must as Study Director Positions require supervision and training of technicians; substantial interaction with clients, sales staff, regulatory affairs, and Quality Assurance Officers; and adherence to regulatory guidelines.
