Sr. Director, Product Development – Vaccines
Washington, DC Area
The qualified candidate will be an integral contributor to client’s Product Development group by providing leadership and oversight to Director-level staff leading teams working to develop new human vaccines and immunotherapeutics. This position reports directly to the Vice President, Product Development and Site Operations. The Senior Director will manage Directors and Associate Directors leading projects focused on developing products for both biodefense and commercial markets. The primary responsibilities for the candidate will be to provide project teams with strong strategic and technical guidance, to ensure that teams maintain updated target product profiles and regulatory strategies, to drive projects to achieve milestones according to product development plans, and to manage and appropriately communicate project scope changes, issues and risks. The candidate is expected to provide periodic project status reports to Senior Management, and will be responsible for representing projects both internally and externally. The candidate will also be responsible for assisting project teams in executing against project plans associated with U.S. government-funded grants and contracts.
Seven or more years of industrial project leadership and management experience in a biologics product development environment is required. Experience in biodefense product development, in vaccinology, and with GLP and GMP regulations is also desired. The candidate should have exceptional oral and written communication skills and be fluent with modern software.
