Synthetic Organic Chemist

As the Synthetic Organic Chemist, you will be responsible for the development of new detection reagents to be used in life science applications. You will use scientific judgment to provide design inputs for novel detection reagent development.

Responsibilities:
• Develop new detection reagents for bioconjugation and/or direct detection applications
• Initiate, direct and execute scientific research and/or development strategies
• Solve synthetic and process problems is essential
• Analyze complex data and interpret experimental results. Write reports and presents results and project updates to Senior Management
• Work directly with product development teams to characterize the activity of various detection reagents
• Assist in the development of stability and formulation protocols
• Write protocols and SOPs, ensure processes are scalable and transfer process specifications and protocols to manufacturing
• May supervise Research Associates, their daily experiments and troubleshooting issues
• Demonstrate data analysis, research design and the evaluation of new techniques and procedures for manufacturing relevant detection reagents

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, related scientific discipline and/or relevant industrial R&D experience with good understanding of synthetic organic chemistry; Ph.D. degree or Master’s degree with 2+ years industrial R&D experience or Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years industrial R&D experience. 3-5 years of working experience in the area of synthetic organic chemistry and familiarity with fluorescence-based assays. Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills for this position.
