Nanocrystal Scientist
As the Nanocrystal Scientist, you will be primarily responsible for the transfer of nanocrystal technology and manufacturing processes from licensee and the optimization of current and development of new nanocrystal coatings for fluorescence based molecular and cell analysis applications.
Responsibilities:
• Transfer current nanocrystal manufacturing process from licensee
• Optimize current and develop novel nanocrystal coatings
• Initiate, direct and execute scientific research and/or development strategies
• Plan and design experimental methods to achieve technical objectives
• Critically analyze complex data and interpret experimental results; write reports and presents results and project updates to Senior Management
• Work directly with process development and assay development team to characterize the activity of various fluorescent nanocrystals and optimize process
• Write protocols and SOPs, ensure processes are scalable and transfer process specifications and protocols to manufacturing
• Provide scientific and technical support for troubleshooting of the conjugation process and for optimization in production and recovery processes in manufacturing
• Demonstrate data analysis, research design and the evaluation of new techniques and procedures for manufacturing
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Material Sciences or Physical Sciences or equivalent background or experience; Ph.D. degree with 3 or more years Post Doctoral or industrial experience preferred. Must have hands-on experience in the development of nanocrystals and surface coatings and familiarity with biological applications of fluorescence-based assays. Excellent computer, organizational and communication skills are required for this position
