Position Description

Position: Product Manager
Type: Direct Hire

Location: Westbury, NY



Job Description:
· Responsible for product management and business development of various product lines including Sample Preparation, Detection Instruments and select Consumables.
· Visit customers and dealers and work with sales representatives to achieve various goals.
· Develop business plan for the portfolio of products, including the setting of strategies and tactics for sales representatives, product training seminars and meetings, website content, and trade show exhibit management.
· Coordinate with Marketing Services for the production of advertising and collateral materials, i.e., literature, mailers, manuals, etc.
· Analyze market trends and dynamics, customer needs, and competition and position products through marketing, advertising, and pricing to insure the achievement of business goals. Advise suppliers of product shortcomings or technical problems and makes recommendations to overcome them.
· Determine new market and application opportunities for current product portfolio. Seeks opportunities to expand supplier’s product portfolio, and provide feedback to the supplier.
· Seek opportunities for new products/suppliers.

Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discpline (Chemistry/Biology)
· 5 to 7 years experience in a sales or marketing role with a scientific organization
Experience with revenue generation from repeating consumable, reagent and/or disposable business preferred.
