JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY:
The Vice President, Americas OU, is responsible for the overall relationship between Kendle and the regional staff of actual and potential customers and for the successful completion of all projects assigned to the operating unit. This responsibility is all-encompassing, including not only project execution, but also general management, marketing and sales.

Because phase II-III projects generally involve integrating services from a number of Kendle operating units, the Vice President must exercise this responsibility in close cooperation with other groups within Kendle.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Within the overall corporate structure and organization:
• Understand the phase I-III service needs of all the operating unit’s targeted customers.
• Develop a strategic business plan to meet these customer needs.
• Develop and implement operating plans consistent with the strategic plan.
• Recruit, train and develop staff as required.
• Market / sell services to the assigned customers.
• Develop and manage the operating unit budget.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The Vice President should have a post-graduate degree with significant appropriate technical and management experience.

Global orientation / interest
Understanding of management / finance fundamentals

Excellent leadership and decision making skills are required, along with the ability to understand, organize and supervise staff to work concurrently on several projects with differing requirements.

International experience in a large organization and with complex project management and execution, and knowledge of the CRO industry is strongly desired.

The Vice President should be attentive to detail, flexible, open to suggestions, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The Vice President should be able to deal effectively with staff from multiple departments and countries both internally and externally.
