Position Description

Head of Dermatology Business
Objective of the role
• Develop an R&D based business licensing dermatology and cosmetic applications of the core IP.
• Manage the establishment of the Dermatology unit as a separate business.
• Mid-term: Manage the business to an exit for the current investors.
Core responsibilities of the role
• Lead and manage the R&D team through the CSO to deliver research and technology development against agreed milestones and budgets.
• Create a strong network in the clinical, scientific and commercial sectors of the chosen clinical /cosmetic applications in order to identify technology and licensing opportunities and to achieve effective profiling of target customer licensees.
Reports to
• Short-term (0-6 months): Managing Director of Holding Company.
• Long-term (in event of spin out): Directly to the new Board as MD of new business.
Experience required
• Business development and marketing roles in blue chip corporate dermatology/cosmetic companies.
• Licensing deals/negotiations.
• Leadership achievements and experience – line management and project management experience.
• Involvement in creating strategy at least at divisional level.
• Desirable: – experience of high IP start-ups.

Educational level.
• Minimum: natural sciences degree with blue chip business experience.

Pay: £80 – 100,000. Share options available.
