Position Description

We are seeking a Microbiology Study Director to work in a growing medical device, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology-testing laboratory. We are seeking a candidate with strong industry experience in pharmacopeial testing, sterilization validation, reusable device testing, and general pharmaceutical microbiology


Responsibilities include setting up various tests for the In-Vitro Toxicology department, conducting the studies in a GLP environment. Studies include genetic toxicology, in-vitro cell cytotoxicity, hematology, and viral and bacterial studies. The appropriate candidate will also perform routine laboratory duties, maintain complete documentation of tests and logbooks. Studies are conducted under numerous guidelines, protocols, and Standard Operating Procedures.

This position requires M.S. or Ph.D. and five year’s experience managing a microbiology lab in a contract research setting. (BS with eight years’ industry experience will be considered). The degree should be in Biology, Biotechnology, Microbiology or related degree. He/she must have hands-on lab skills, excellent organizational skills and the ability to work simultaneously on multiple tasks and/or take direction from multiple people. The successful candidate should have experience in writing protocols, sops, validating methods, staff training, and strong communication skills.
