We are currently assisting a San Francisco, CA based client to find an experienced Senior Scientist. SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced Senior Scientist to lead a group that expands our commitment to discovery and design of therapeutic antibodies. The successful candidate is expected to develop novel antibody technologies within his/her own group, to manage internal collaborations, and to lead specific antibody project teams in collaboration with other company research and development groups on therapeutically relevant projects.


QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5 to 7 years including management experience.

• An established record of innovative research in the immunological basis of the natural antibody response and/or molecular aspects of antibody design.
• A record of significant postdoctoral and independent research accomplishments as evidenced by a strong publication record in top-tier journals.
• Demonstrated successful management of an academic or industrial research lab group over a period of at least 5 years or, a more junior level candidate with exceptional publication record will be considered.

• Experience in preclinical development of therapeutic antibodies in a multidisciplinary team environment is desirable.

• Ability to travel occasionally.


REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Mammalian-cell, yeast or RNA display of antibodies
• Structure-function studies of antibodies


RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead a group focused on the application and development of innovative protein and peptide phage display or other protein diversity/molecular evolution technologies.

• Develop novel technologies within his/her own group that will have broad application in the areas of molecular recognition and drug discovery, and will collaborate effectively with other multidisciplinary research groups in advancing therapeutically relevant projects.


EDUCATION:

• A Ph.D. in biochemistry, chemistry, or a related field with a Doctoral, educational minimum.
