Position Description
The Associate Scientist I / II will be expected to follow the existing protocols in the flow cytometry core laboratory and work independently on all instruments of the facility. Primary responsibilities include:
• Operating flow analyzers and cell sorters.
• Backing up data.
• Troubleshooting mechanical and software problems related to the FACS instruments.
• Providing technical advice on experimental methods relating to flow cytometry.
• Maintaining a current knowledge of best practice for flow cytometry.
• Assisting with data analysis and interpretation, providing training for use of the off-line software.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Extensive practical experience of multicolor immunophenotyping and cell sorting.
• Strong foundation in flow cytometry theory.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good communication and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of immunology techniques and protocols.
• Knowledge of safety protocols.
