Manager, Global Market Research – Therapeutic Area- Hematology

Responsible for the conception, analysis and conduct of Global Marketing Research programs to provide Management (SVP, VP, Marketing Directors
and Managers) with accurate, timely and relevant business strategy conclusions and recommendations to support global Business/Marketing and R&D decisions. Market research tasks include the management of international primary market research studies including project leadership of international,
interdisciplinary teams; and secondary data analysis which use multiple and varied external secondary databases. This information will be used to manage
the company’s global portfolio of products, to evaluate global licensing opportunities for related products, and to manage the competitive product
strategies. Analyses will always cover the key 8 main countries plus further countries which are of strategic interest for a specific product/therapeutic
area. A strong understanding of the market dynamics of the pharmaceutical marketplace in each of the 8 main countries, and what roles are played by
competitors, government agencies, and current medical practices, as well as social issues, enable the incumbent to provide key input to the global
strategic decision making processes. Therefore, the incumbent will liase and cooperates with various operative countries on a regular basis.


1. Independently manages and directs projects for business units/therapeutic areas of responsibility. Plans, implements, analyzes, interprets, and reports
on assigned pipeline and marketed products in order to provide management and marketing with accurate, timely, and relevant business strategy actions and to optimize growth opportunities for global markets. Projects are always international in scope and require a continuous and close interface with the
eight main (plus other) countries.

2. Responsible for on-going marketing research using secondary data (i.e., IMS
audits, Datamonitor, Decision Resources, etc.) to provide a continuous source
of benchmarking analyses, trend analysis in therapeutic areas, market /
competitor intelligence. Obtaining Competitive Intelligence based upon industry
contacts with agencies of expertise, as well as having access to a world-wide
network of knowledgeable individuals or organizations in order to provide Bayer
with knowledge to be used pre-emptively regarding competitive product/marketing
activities.

MBA or other advanced degree in fields such as Life Sciences, Economics, Statistics, Public Health or equivalent experience. Degree beyond
MBA or equivalent experience preferred. Eight to ten years of applied business experience; at least four to six (6) of which are in pharmaceutical marketing
research area. One (1) year supervisory and/or marketing research training experience, or equivalent background is a plus.
Requires thorough knowledge of audits, questionnaire design (to elicit qualitative and quantitative feedback without introducing bias), and data
analysis including technical approaches such as conjoint, perceptual mapping, and factor analysis. Therapeutic experience should include Hematology.
Incumbent must have the ability to interface with high levels of internal management, communication agencies and Marketing Research suppliers/consultants, to lead and coordinate projects through international and interdisciplinary groups, and be able to clearly and concisely communicate, both verbally and in writing. Incumbent must have a sound knowledge of marketed and pipeline products, of therapeutic markets, marketing activities and objectives. Incumbent must be able to work with a high degree of independence, plan, organize and implement multiple projects within time and budget constraint.
