Senior Manager, Supplies Management - Metabasis Therapeutics

This position will manage all aspects of GMP drug substance and clinical trials materials, including supply forecasting, packaging, labeling, distribution, inventory management, and vendor management to meet the needs of drug product development and clinical trials. Specific duties include:
• Providing strategic leadership and planning for GMP drug substance and clinical supply needs.
• Establishing SOPs and guidelines related to supply management
• Working with development departments to determine near-term and long-term supply needs.
• Working with development departments on the timely delivery of drug substance and/or comparator drugs to drug development or distribution vendors to ensure adherence with the required development schedules.
• Identifying, evaluating, selecting, and managing vendors responsible for labeling, packaging, storage and distribution of GMP drug substances and clinical supplies.
• Overseeing inventory management and tracking of shipments to investigational and study sites.
• Consulting with development departments to determine appropriate design for labeling and packaging.
• Identifying emerging trends, technologies, and regulations and implement as appropriate.

Qualified candidates will possess:
• BS/BA in a technical or life sciences field, and 10 years relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of materials and inventory management, discretion procedures and regulations related to drub substance and clinical supplies
• Excellent organization, planning, communication and negotiation skills
• Familiarity with various clinical trail designs
• Detail-orientation with ability to effectively handle deadlines
• Some travel may be required
