Position Description
We currently have an opportunity for an Import/Export Compliance Analyst. This position will be responsible for assuring daily U.S. import and export regulatory compliance and supporting global trade compliance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
·Facilitate US import and export operations ensuring regulatory compliance.
·Audit import and export filings. Resolve discrepancies, request appropriate corrections, reconcile or protest as appropriate.
·Ensure for appropriate data: HTS, ECCN, Country of Origin, FDA product codes, import/export documentation requirements and valuation of products.
·Interface with internal and external customers/vendors, freight forwarders/customs brokers, government agencies and other functional areas to ensure coordination and logistics of imports and exports.
·Assist in the development, implementation, enhancement and maintainance of trade compliance management sytems, policies, procedures and work instructions.
·Monitor import and export blocks and sanctioned party screening.
·Ensure employee understanding of legal regulations and principles relative to the import and export of products through communications and assisting in training.
·Keep abreast of changes in trade regulations to ensure company compliance.
REQUIRES:
·Technical expertise in global trade (import and export) regulations, classifications, valuation, country of origin, duty preference programs, sanctioned party screening and antiboycott restrictions
·Experience in development and implementation of global trade compliance procedures
·Minimum of 3 years related import analyst experience including full knowledge of HTSUS classification principles
·Minimum of 1 year export analyst experience
·Excellent analytical and organization skills including ability to collect, structure, analyze and communicate data
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills
·Ability to speak effectively before groups
·Strong computer skills
·Ability and desire to work in highly dynamic and changing environment
·BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
PREFER experience with:
·SAP
·US Customs Reconciliation
·FDA imports
·AES and EEI
·C-TPAT {Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) implementation
·CAFTA, NAFTA and/or other trade preference programs
·Spanish language
