Production Operator job responsibilities include:
- Assemble and/or test subassemblies in GC/MS production.
- Monitor & verify quality of each production operation using visual inspection, basic measurement devices and automated test equipment. Testing and troubleshooting requires technical understanding of the product and judgment decisions.
- Perform routine production line tasks defined by the work area using hand tools and/or operating equipment according to quality procedures: nonconforming material/product, equipment calibration, ESD precautions, etc.
- Manage the inventory function on the bench.
- Support team members in achieving the production line objectives and goals through effective teamwork. This includes providing constructive feedback to peers.
- Maintain flexibility and receptiveness to change in daily routine. This includes a willingness to move to another shift.
- This position may require overtime for an extended period.
- Understand & meet all appropriate specified standard times. Complete assignments in a timely manner.
- Position may require more responsibility related to impact on the business and customer.

May require some higher education or specialized training/certification.
Requires a minimum of 3 years directly related experience,
- Ability to assemble small parts: high level of manual dexterity.
- Ability to perform basic testing & troubleshooting/repair of product and use of judgment to determine course of action.
- Communication skills: demonstrated ability to give/receive oral or written information clearly.
- Teamwork: demonstrated ability to work with others to create and accomplish a common goal.
- Flexibility: demonstrated ability to adjust rapidly and effectively to change and remain open to new ideas.
- Quality system orientation: demonstrated use of tools, methods and processes to ensure that own/others’ work meet quality standards.
- Responsibility/ownership: demonstrated willingness to take responsibility for resolving problems, personally championing new ideas or solutions to these problems.
- General computer literacy: effective use of computer applications to perform work or testing.
- No known allergies to industrial chemicals used in the work area; may be required to participate in medical training/screening or monitoring programs.
- Must be able to work under a flowhood.
Time spent during workday:
40% – Stooping ,bending, walking, reaching to retrieve or deliver parts typically under but not limited to 25 lbs.
60% – Position allows some flexibility for production operator to sit or stand, depending on their preference to perform the job.
