The SPE Applications Chemist will be responsible for the following:
•Develop new SPE applications and technical data that address customer needs in the Pharmaceutical, Environmental, Forensics, Food and Food Safety segments in support of marketing programs and product introductions.
•Create compelling business value content for customers, i.e. sales presentations, competitor performance comparisons, case studies, white papers and business value/ROI analysis that clearly highlights sample workflow benefits to users and customers.
•Write application notes and technical articles for both internal (Agilent newsletters) and external (industry periodicals and peer-reviewed journals) publication.
•Work closely with the R&D team in the development of new products
•Test and evaluate R&D prototypes.
•Help define meaningful and measurable performance specifications for final tests.
•Strong contributor to inbound marketing – identify needs, trends, and issues from collaborations with customers and industry thought leaders and translate into new product and application opportunities.
•Develop and deliver technical papers and posters to be presented at technical conferences.
•Penetrate and/or influence official organizations, such as ASTM, AOAC, EPA, FDA, USP, etc., to adopt/use our products in official methodology.
•Develop and deliver e-seminars and seminar tours, field and distributor training as well as support customer escalation issues in all regions.
• Requires potential travel up to 25%.
•Work closely with other business units to produce and ensure incorporation of SPE consumables into their industry workflow solutions, application plans and publications.
This position will be located in Wilmington, Delaware. Agilent will not sponsor work authorization for this position.
Qualifications:
•Requires a PhD in Chemistry (Analytical preferred) or equivalent work experience
•A minimum of 5 years, with typically 10 or more years experience developing methods for Liquid Chromatography and Solid Phase Extraction. LC/MS and GC-GC/MS experience is a plus.
•Minimum of 2 years experience developing methods and running applications in one or more of the following industries:
Pharmaceutical
Environmental
Food & Food Safety
Drug Testing
•Excellent oral and written communication skills
•Excellent oral presentation skills (customer-facing, technical seminars, generalized sales presentations)
