Position Description

Technical Sales Representative-
Laboratory Instrumentation for Microarray-Based Genetic Tests

*Two (2) positions available: (1) in Boston/Northeast Region and (1) in Washington DC/Mid-Atlantic Region. *

As a member of the Technical Sales Team, you will sell instruments into molecular cytogenetics laboratories located in health care facilities and private diagnostic companies as well as to DNA research laboratories located in educational and government institutions.

Key job functions include:
•Organize and conduct product presentations and demonstrations to new customers.
•Strengthen relationships with existing customers by providing high level sales support.
•Provide feedback to the Company to help guide new product development.

Candidates should have one of the following two backgrounds:
A. Previous sales experience is not required if you have 2+ years hands-on experience performing microarray based assays. SciGene will provide training if you are interested in transitioning to a technical sales position.

B. If you do not have microarray experience, you will have 2+ years proven successful experience selling laboratory automation equipment. SciGene will provide training on the technical aspects of microarray based methods.

All candidates will have the following skills:
•2+ years working in a DNA research or cytogenetics laboratory
•Excellent command of English
•Strong interpersonal skills
•Outgoing and positive personality
•Good multi-tasker / time management skills
•Use of the computer for everything

Education: BS/MS degree in a life science discipline
Travel: Up to 50%
Start Date: Immediate
Compensation: $100K base salary and commission
