Position Description

Medical Director, BioOncology – San Francisco – relocation available

We are seeking a Board Certified Oncologist interested in doing clinical dx work for our client in San Francisco.

As a Medical Director or Associate Medical Director you will participate in the implementation of our client’s Clinical Technology Evaluation and Diagnostics efforts within the Clinical BioOncology Organization.

The position will report to the Associate Group Medical Director responsible for Clinical Technology Evaluation and Diagnostics in BioOncology.

Principal responsibilities will include:

Leadership of cross-functional teams to develop strategies and plans for the optimal incorporation of biomarkers into clinical development plans and clinical trials for investigational new drugs, particularly those targeting HER or B cell malignancies.

Development of strategies for evaluating novel technologies as tools for the assessment of novel anti-cancer drugs. These strategies will be directed at providing better predictive tests for appropriate use of our client’s oncology products, and improved markers of drug activity in the clinic.

Design and implementation of clinical trials with primary Diagnostics endpoints, particularly where the question of interest is not owned by a single molecule or “brand”.

Requirements:

Qualifications are an MD (or non-US equivalent), board certified in oncology or hematology, or oncology-related specialty. Scientific background (eg PhD) with track record of peer-reviewed publications.

Prior experience in drug development and/or experience in the assessment of novel technologies and diagnostics in clinical trials is preferred. Particular expertise in the treatment of B cell malignancies is also preferred.

Must have excellent communication and leadership skills, and be able to manage through influence while operating in an uncertain, rapidly changing environment. Need to successfully establish peer relationships in a matrix organization. Possess ability to interact effectively with external investigators.
