Position Description
Global Head Technical R&D Systems
The incumbent to the Global Head Technical R&D Systems position will be responsible for managing multiple Account Managers, providing support, mentoring and facilitation to ensure high levels of service and responsiveness to the business. As well as, responsible for serving as single point of ownership for Development Global line function systems – Technical Research & Development (TRD) and accountable for providing application development and support for all TRD applications globally. Responsible for planning and executing DEV-Informatics strategy and business strategies as it pertains to TRD. Act as the primary point of contact, coordinates IT activities and resources to support the business. Accountable to work across other Dev-Informatics functions, and follow Dev-Informatics Governance processes. Responsible for IT service delivery, application development and support, and service management to TRD globally. Build & maintain strong working relationship with TRD management team; set overall strategic systems direction to meet specific business needs and support functional business objectives, in support of corporate goals. Build strong partnership with TRD management to enhance business value of IT, manages, mentors and facilitates the activities of the Account Managers and other senior staff members for all sub functions within TRD, works with project team leaders across all geographies in coordinating project team activities and timelines to meet promised target obligations, manages expenses to meet budget targets and objectives within IT function and makes decisions on personnel actions (hiring, terminations, promotions, reviews, development etc.). A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related business function is required, MBA preferred. Experience needed: 15 years in Technical Research & Development Information Systems with at least 10 years experience in systems development; big company pharmaceutical experience preferred to small or medium. Skills needed for this position includes: strong leadership, ability to present complex subjects to senior Global Line Function line management, strong demonstrated project management skills, demonstrated track record of innovation, good interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Business knowledge of Clinical Development and awareness of industry/regulatory issues is required.
