Position Description
Position: Product Manager – PCR and Cloning
As the Product Manager for PCR and Cloning reagents you will join a talented Product Marketing Team within Agilent Technologies – Stratagene Products Division. We are seeking an enthusiastic marketing professional to manage Agilent’s Life Science and Chemical Analysis (LSCA) PCR and Cloning reagents product portfolios. In this role your primary focus is to develop and launch new products and implement tactical marketing programs to meet growth targets.
Key responsibilities:
- Facilitate development of products through R&D, into Production, and onto market
- Develop product launch strategies and implement launch plans to effectively utilize all channels
- Establish product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share
- Produce competitive analysis materials comparing product with its key competitors
- Set product-pricing strategies, including discount structures, and manage those strategies in conjunction with market dynamics and target markets
- Performing financial analyses and building business cases for marketing programs and measuring and evaluating short- and long-term impacts of marketing programs
- Working with marketing communications professionals to develop programs
- Collaborate with field colleagues to ensure global efficacy of programs and align execution with regions
- Defining training and content requirements for products and programs
- Drive the product/marketing message through all communication channels
- Develop promotional and collateral materials for products on market
- Identify partnering opportunities for complementary third-party products to broaden company’s product line
- Participate in key sales situations for the product
- Manage financials for products, including sales revenue, cost, profit, marketing expense, and other product related expenses
Qualifications:
Requires:
BS/MS degree in Molecular Biology or related field or equivalent
- 2+ years experience in the marketing of molecular biology products. Sales experience is a plus
- Track record of success in use of marketing skills and market knowledge to prepare reagent products for commercialization which translates to business success
- Must have technical knowledge of molecular biology reagents with an understanding of PCR
- Experience developing outbound marketing programs to drive demand for new and existing products as well as encourage repeat purchasing
- Demonstrate ability to develop marketing plans that align with strategic objectives
- Ability to work independently to plan, prioritize workload, schedule time, assess and solve problems
- Proficiency in pricing and forecasting
- Must exhibit traits of teamwork, creativity, planning and organization, and flexibility
- Strong analytical and decision making skills
- Strong evidence of customer focus and customer advocacy
- Experience in working with global markets/customers an advantage
- Excellent written and oral communications skills and comfortable presenting to senior individuals both internally and externally
- Must have flexibility in working hours and available for 25% business travel
