Position Description

Job Scope
The Associating Director of US Oncology and New Product Commercialization will be developing and executing US product marketing strategies and tactics in order to achieve the goals of the US Oncology Business Unit or specific products.




Job Responsibilities
• Developing and executing strategic and tactical marketing plans for EMD Serono Oncology and for specific products
Bringing strong US oncology market knowledge to product teams and provides input to the US clinical development of oncology products as assigned
•Working collaboratively with key thought leaders, academic institutions, cooperative groups, and professional and patient advocacy groups to ensure competitive advantage
•Manages the creation, development, approval and distribution/implementation of promotional and educational materials and programs to ensure that these materials are aligned with brand strategy and positioning, as well as produced in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
• Managing projects with multiple dimensions and analyzes key metrics that define success such as budget, timelines, etc.
• Developing and implementing commercial materials and activities relating to scientific exhibits at conventions and symposia.
• Providing commercial input to US sales forecasts of assigned products and co-owning the forecast with Commercial Operations

Required Education
• Undergraduate degree in business, marketing or sciences

Required Qualifications

• 5-10 years biotechnology or pharmaceutical experience
• 4-6 years of new product commercialization, in-line marketing, and/or strategic planning in oncology with a biotech, pharmaceutical, or consulting company





PERSONAL SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

• Understanding of the drug development process and key clinical and regulatory endpoints in oncology
• Ability to manage multiple products/projects under specific direction and within timelines and budgets
• Ability to travel; estimated 30+% time commitment
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Word and Project
