Business Development Manager – East Coast
Celsis International plc is a leading life sciences products and services company operating through three divisions: Rapid Detection Systems, Analytical Services and In Vitro Technologies. Celsis Rapid Detection Systems division delivers substantial cost savings to their customers by reducing the time it takes to test and release raw materials and finished goods to the market place as well as ensures the safety and quality of products bound for consumers. In doing so, Celsis’ products also facilitate increased manufacturing productivity through a reduction in working capital and increased supply chain efficiency.
Using proprietary enzyme technology, the Rapid Detection Systems division is the world leader in providing diagnostic testing systems for the rapid detection of microbial contamination. The division’s customer base includes many of the world’s leading pharmaceutical and consumer product companies, such as GlaxoSmithKline, McNeil, Procter & Gamble, Colgate Palmolive, Unilever, Coke and Pepsi, just to name a few.
The Rapid Detection group is seeking an energetic, assertive and dynamic sales professional to lead the Business Development in the East Coast region, reporting to the Vice President/General Manager. This position requires an individual comfortable dealing from senior level business executives to laboratory and quality assurance managers to drive the sale and implementation of Celsis’ systems. The ideal candidate will be able to quickly analyze the business opportunity and identify the key decision maker so as to effect a short sales cycle.
Responsibilities:
• This position will be responsible for business development primarily focused on developing personal care and pharmaceutical opportunities for Celsis products.
• Identification of company targets, senior management contacts, and implementation opportunities are critical to the success of this position.
• Provide a consultative sales approach by emphasizing value-added sales, service and financial savings
• Conduct professional presentations to multi-functional, senior / executive level personnel
• Ability to travel (Approximate: 25% to 50%)
• Development and management of thorough implementation plans with cross functional teams consisting of both customer and Celsis personnel
• Ensuring accurate and timely communication of sales forecasts and activity
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree, MBA a plus
• 5-7 years outside sales experience within the life sciences, pharmaceutical, medical/capital equipment, or personal care industries preferred
• Previous experience in selling a new technology in an emerging marketplace using a change management sales approach a plus
• Experience working in a high energy environment
• A proven sales & management track record
• A professional demeanor coupled with an enthusiastic personality
• Successful candidate will know how to communicate expectations regarding performance and hold people accountable for results. He/she will also have high expectations regarding their own performance
• Team player personality
• Excellent problem solving, time management and account management skills
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Contact Management
