• To manage large volume custom media business and supply agreements. As customers scale up in their media formulations, this position will manage supply agreements, negotiations, pricing, product and sourcing strategies for customers.
• Work with Sales to ensure customer retention, profitability, supply chain excellence to grow existing businesses.
• Work will encompass executing on business strategy around pricing and supply chain excellence. Will work cross functionally with Sales, Legal, Functional Excellence, Operations, Program Management Office, and PD-Direct.
• May supervise Associate Product Managers.

Essential Functions:

• Will lead and manage the negotiation process of supply agreements in coordination with Sales globally. Furthermore, will manage the life cycle of supply agreement as the customer matures. This will involve re-negotiations of pricing, supply chain, service terms of agreements.
• Additionally, will be involved with training of Sales on negotiation and positioning of Invitrogen BioProduction.
• Will work closely with PD-Direct in providing strategies and inputs into custom media development as it relates to products. This will involve establishing customized pricing and supply chain terms.
• Evaluate trends in current landscape, our position, and develop an effective plan to increase sales of portfolio focusing on existing accounts. Maintain knowledge of the trends and competitive activity relevant to the custom products or BP business unit.
• Recommend new or revised approaches to the current strategy.
• May perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline, or the equivalent education and experience are required.
M.B.A. and operational experience preferred.

Experience:
At least 7 years in biotech industry as it relates to manufacturing, supply chain management, and/or procurement/purchasing. Significant experience around contracts and negotiations.
Strong communication skills as well as analytical, project management and planning skills necessary. Business development skills and cross-functional team leadership experience preferred. Proven ability to see new business opportunities, set and meet aggressive objectives and develop strong working relationships also preferred. Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint strongly preferred.
