Position Description
Business Development Role
Responsibility for the development of Big DNA’s marketing, sales and licensing activities, to maintain and develop revenues in accordance with agreed business plans. Ideally experience of licensing platform technologies is desirable; vaccines experience, while desirable, is not essential.
Involvement in strategic planning (including business plan development) and overall assessment and monitoring of the business aspects of research programmes.
Some scientific background to understand the technology and applications being developed by Big DNA. Non-technical input in marketing, sales, licensing, contract negotiation, and the interface with both technical and non-technical personnel.
The commercialisation will involve a mixture of end-user licensing, R&D partnerships with pharma companies and academic institutes, and the promotion of services provided by Big DNA using this platform. A strategic overview of the scientific development of the technology platform to ensure the continuing development within Big DNA is in keeping with commercial objectives. Therefore focussing of the company’s resources is important.
The company is located in the historic village of Roslin (Rosslyn Chapel of the Da Vinci Code, and where Dolly the Sheep was created). This opportunity is an excellent opportunity to get in on the ground and place a significant role in developing and implementing strategy in an idyllic country location.
