Sr. Associate Workforce Scientist (Req. 2638)
Grand Island, NY

Position Details:
Invitrogen, a leader of cell culture systems development, is devoted to developing innovative products supporting the cell culture research markets. As a member of the Workflow Sciences Group within R&D, the successful applicant will have frequent interactions with product managers, market development professionals, operations, customers and sales representatives on new product development opportunities. The successful candidate will work independently and utilize knowledge of current products, industry requirements, processes and customer workflows to generate innovative product ideas and drive revenue growth as the R&D lead on new product launch teams.
Demonstrated ability to generate innovative ideas, prototypes and conduct testing and research around these product ideas will be required. Excellent communication skills and ability to lead a cross-functional team through the NPI (New Product Introduction) process is required.
The successful candidate can expect to lead and participate on multiple NPI teams at any given time while generating a queue of ideas for business evaluation.
Education Requirements:
B.S. in Biology or Science related field and minimum 5 years experience is highly preferred. M.S. in Science related field with 2 years experience is preferred.
Experience Requirements:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience within the medical device, pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry with demonstrated accomplishments in new product development. The successful applicant will have the ability to generate innovative new product ideas and facilitate Customer-Based Innovation. The candidate must have excellent time management, communication skills, a sense of urgency when needed and the ability to prioritize across multiple projects while keeping launch dates on target.
Expected Behaviors:
The Sr. Associate Workflow Scientist will be a thought leader in the design and implementation of novel and innovative new products and applications. In addition, the Sr. Associate Workflow Scientist will work proactively to translate new technologies and workflows into new product offerings.
Travel:
Position is based in Grand Island, NY. Up to 15% travel can be anticipated.
