Position Description

We are seeking a third party equipment manager to support our Systems Team which focuses on our two major system product lines; the Element™ and BioCel™ Automation Platforms.
The successful candidate will interactively manage the “Third-Party” Equipment Portfolio to develop a strong peripheral equipment strategy complementary to Velocity11 products. Coordination of all activities for procuring goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies and advertising for establishment. Reviews requisitions. Interacts with vendors to obtain product and service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule. Selects products for purchasing by testing, observing, or examining new items as needed. Estimates values according to continued knowledge of market price. Determines method of procurement and bids with multiple vendors when advantageous to the company. Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority. Maintains manual or computerized procurement records, such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories. Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action. May approve invoices for payment. May expedite delivery of goods to users.
The candidate will work with multiple departments to analyze, specify and assist in procuring all third party equipment.
Qualifications:
Requirements:
-BS in a science related discipline or year degree in economics/business administration or equivalent years experience and/or education
-2+ years experience in Life Science research automation, laboratory methods, terminology, and applications would be very helpful
-Track record of success in interfacing and partnering with cross-functional internal and external teams at all levels and disciplines
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Computer proficiency with Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
-High energy level, self-motivated, with demonstrated success working independently or in a team-oriented environment
-Ability to make decisions, keep composure and sense of humor in difficult situations or possible conflicting deadlines
-Available for up to 30% business travel
-Valid driver’s license
