Position Description

The Quality Manager for the Velocity11 Team is responsible for leading the effort to establish and promote the Quality function within the organization.

Duties and responsibilities include the following:
1. Establish a Quality department to identify, recruit and hire qualified individuals supporting the ongoing Velocity11 mission. This will include developing operating procedures and strategies to achieve Velocity11 goals and objectives; partnering with Agilent’s Corporate Quality organization to ensure linkage into company wide Quality initiatives including ISO/Regulatory Qualifications (will include multi-national issues).

2. Initiate and Lead quality improvement initiatives, resolving critical quality issues, supporting site systems assembly and instruments quality activities, certifications and audits, and reviewing and approving new product quality and reliability plans throughout the development cycle with consideration for DFx, DFMEA, FIT, and process capability analysis. Teaching and conveying Quality initiatives to peers and allied departments will be an essential success factor. Candidate will also be expected to lead cross-functional quality and process improvement efforts that deliver significant bottom line improvements for the Velocity11 business unit. He/she will work directly with Quality and Velocity11 leadership teams to develop prioritized objectives and lead team of change agents to drive improvements. Lead process development & implementation and other activities to achieve and maintain ISO registration (i.e. 9001 or 13485)

3. Initiate and lead quality management of Velocity11 outsourcing activities as appropriate to assure that only the highest quality products at the appropriate cost are utilized in Velocity11 products. Define supplier qualification and audit plans to assure appropriate controls are in place to assure conformance to requirements.

4. Work directly with customers to identify problems, coordinate, assign and conduct reviews to assure customer issues are resolved completely customer and certification audits.

5. Establish and manage the Velocity11 change control process across all products and all business and manufacturing processes.

Primary responsibilities include:
- Focal Quality contact for BU: Quality & Reliability management – Product Life Cycle Quality Management – Prime for development and production product reviews/DFx/DFMEA/PFMEA – Product Quality Plans: Control/SPC plans, Inspection plans, Surveillance plans, Yields tracking and improvement – CP Approvals – Product PRP/FA/RC/CA Support/Approval – Product PCN/PAN/PDN approval – Product quality improvement i.e. dppm reduction – Cost of quality Reduction initiatives – BU Quality business processes implementation/improvement – Quality metrics reporting/monitoring/improving – Interface and support customers as needed on quality related issues.


Requires:
- BS, or MS in Engineering or equivalent.
- 10+ years related work industry experience in a progressive direct manager role.
- Proven success in leading global cross-functional matrix teams organizations
- Experience with ISO 9001/ISO 13485/QSR and quality auditing expertise
- Demonstrated product qualification and quality processes expertise.
- Strong leadership, communication and program management skills a must
- A proven track record of successfully implementing major process improvement initiatives.
- Possession of CQE/CQM certification a plus
- Six-Sigma Black Belt a plus,
- Regulatory experience a plus
- Must be available for business travel.
