Our client is a quality driven, innovative global drug development provider. With hundreds of scientists on staff, our client accelerates the process of pharmaceutical drug approval through a broad and integrated suite of services including, discovery, development and clinical trials.
Opportunity
The Director of Business Development will be responsible for driving business results within the custom research and manufacturing group. Our client has established relationships with most of the top pharmaceutical companies in industry and is a highly profitable drug development organization.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Business development and sales with regard to custom manufacturing, synthesis, and contract research chemistry with large pharmaceutical and agricultural chemical companies.
Compete for end client pre-clinical and clinical commercial quantities business with respect to advance intermediates, all proprietary products, API and quality.
Primary point person for identifying and maintaining important business contacts and relationships.
Develop and execute comprehensive territory sales plans to maximize revenue and profitability.
Participate in all major exhibitions and conferences in order to build relationships and contacts.
Consistently communicate client expectations and timelines to scientific staff to maintain a high quality of service.
Professional Qualifications
Education/Certifications
A Masters of Science in Chemistry or other Life Sciences discipline is preferred. Additionally, a degree in Business with a specialization in Marketing/Sales is desirable.
Professional Qualifications
Our client is seeking an acknowledged, successful, sales professional with 10 + years of relevant experience in Business Development within the Life Science space, with prior experience selling relevant contract research services to pharmaceutical and agricultural chemical companies.
The successful candidate should have sales experience in custom manufacturing, custom synthesis, and contract research chemistry.
The preferred candidate will also have a strong understanding of pharmaceutical and agricultural chemical business.
·Potential candidates will possess excellent co-ordination, communication, IT, networking and interpersonal skills.
·The ideal candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively, both internally and externally, to scientific audiences.
·The candidate will have strong commercial acumen.
·The candidate will possess strong team management skills and maintain strong interaction with internal staff to insure that client expectations and timelines are met or exceeded.
