BS/BA required; biological science degree helpful: oncology/hematology or specialty experience preferred
The Market Research Manager will provide key Insights and market analyses to support some of Celgene products/indications as required for the U.S. Commercial Group. The candidate will design, plan, execute and analyze all market research projects and will also support the U.S. Channel Marketing and Market Access functions.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Plans, designs, implements and manages primary market research projects and provides final analysis and strategic recommendations to Sales and Marketing as well as Commercial Leadership.
* Works with Marketing, Secondary Data, Sales, Sales Operations, Forecasting, Channel Marketing to design parameters and provide input for both tactical and strategic decision-making.
* Works as key interface between Market Research, Secondary Data, Sales Operations / Sales Forecasting to identify and analyze key data sources (IMS, Wolters-Kluwer, targeting databases, Impact Rx, Synovate, etc.) for integration of these data sources, internal data, and primary research.
* Working with Business Intelligence Manager, analyzes and systematically chronicles activities of competitors and developments in relevant markets, regulatory and public policy actions, general industry issues, and the impact on product marketing.
* Manages all Market Research activities within the assigned franchise areas and reports status to Director, Market Research and other sales and marketing personnel as required. Takes lead role in analyzing, interpreting, and presenting study results to all necessary parties within the U.S. Commercial Group.
* Establishes and provides regular monthly/quarterly data reporting of relevant market data to Marketing, Sales, Business Development, and other Celgene departments as necessary. Analyzes data and evaluates the success of strategies, tactics, product themes and positioning of Celgene and competitor products.
Skills/Knowledge Required:
* BS/BA required; biological science degree helpful but not required
* MBA strongly preferred
* 5-7 years market research with a minimum of 3-5 years experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry
* Hematology / Oncology market experience strongly preferred
* Working knowledge of statistical analytical techniques
* PC literate including Word, PowerPoint, Access software, and advanced Excel skills
* Strong analytical and organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Excellent oral and written communication skills required including presentation experience to all management levels
* Ability to manage personal market research budget
