Researchers launch consortium to study neurodegenerative diseases

A consortium of 14 academic and industrial research teams from Belgium, Estonia, France, Germany, Israel, United Kingdom and Switzerland have joined up to form AgedBrainSYSBIO, a collaborative research project aimed at investigating chronic neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer's disease. Scientists will share results on gene discovery, comparative functional genomics in animal models and research on human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSC). The four-year project project, which has received €6 million from the European Commission, is expected to launch preclinical studies based on the consortium's research. More | Release
